There has probably never been a field of endeavor so filled with opportunists as the field of digitized type font marketing. A few large firms on the order of Adobe, Agfa, Castcraft Software (OptiFont), Letraset, Linotype and Monotype bring to the industry a high degree of integrity based upon good business principles and years of experience. Some small firms, often one or two-person operations with a limited catalog of original matter, can hold their heads high in the knowledge that they produce a good product and treat the customer right.
Highly visible in the font market today are businesses that package very poor quality fonts. Fonts which are gathered from various sources and offered at prices so low that a prudent person should realize that something is wrong. Routinely, type packages contain fonts without kerning pairs, (the digital information that makes letters set well next to each other), to save disk space...the result is a poor looking job. Font alphabets are sold without punctuation marks, bad base alignment, heights not corrected and other earmarks of the amateur font developer.
How many times have you heard someone say "the desk top publishing quality will get better as time goes on," or "it's good enough." The facts are that it won't get better and the output will always be "good enough" until educated type consumers learn to avoid the opportunists, and stop short of being tricked into buying inferior products.
Since 1936, the Kreiter family of Castcraft Software, has been committed to offering the highest quality product you can purchase at competitive and affordable prices. Thank you for adding OptiFonts to your library of typefaces.
Sincerely,

Manny Kreiter
